AMAZING MAT
I love this mat. I do not slip at all and it stays in place even when I am a sweaty mess! I practice yoga at a studio that rents from a boot camp so the floor is slightly cushioned. The thinness of this mat is perfect for that; however, when the studio gets its own place soon with hardwood floors, I may need to go buy The Mat for more cushion.

Great Mat for Balance!
I had a high quality rubber mat, similar to the new Lululemon one, in the past. I never felt completely connected with the floor, so this affected my balance. Immediately, when I started using this practice seemed so much better!
The only negative is that sweat marks are really obvious at hot yo
yoga! This would be solved if you used a towel over your mat, but I just don't like the fuss of a towel. We all sweat at hot yoga, so this doesn't bother me too much!

Great Mat, few disadvantages
I use this mat for yoga and for use over my carpet for my at home work out's. I don't think that the thinness of this mat really is a big deal. It is definitely padded but you can put this over a yoga mat at the gym if you dont want to use theirs or use this for extra padding. It does fold up small which i love because I travel with it, but it leaves marks when folded. Does have amazing traction though. Best grip on a mat. Love this - have in mint color.

Would have rated 5 stars but..
I would have rated this mat 5 stars because of how it doesn't slip, very grippy, can take all forms of yoga, very light-weight, etc. The only problem that I have is that, I see lines that I made with my toe nails when going into different positions for example: downward dog. It has couple scratches on it and is very noticeable. I'm not sure how long this mat will last me but I do love it.

Love it!...but...
I bought this mat because I am leaving the country soon and my maduka was much to heavy and takes up too much luggage space. I read the reviews and decided this could be a good fit - and I was wrong....IT WAS A GREAT FIT. I don't slip at ALL and let me tell you I am a SWEATER, in both heated and non-heated classes. I thought I was going to have a problem with how thin it is because my maduka is really cushiony but I actually prefer this. Balance poses hold much better on this mat and feel so connected to the ground. The ONLY concern I might have is how long it will hold up. I use this 4 times a week for 1.5 - 2 hours and I have a pretty vigorous vinyasa practice (and once I leave it will be 2 hours 7 days a week). I have only had it for about 2 weeks and even after the first practice noticed scuff marks from when I drag back my foot to move into one legged DD with a straight leg and other things of the sort. I have also noticed small indentations from jumping back into chatarunga. I am not hugely concerned about this because my teacher as the same mat and has worn it out (you can tell) but it doesn't seem to have affected it's performance so I think it is simply an aesthetic thing - we shall see. If not, I hope Lulu Lemon ships to Chile :) lol Has anyone else had a similar problem with the markings after only a few uses? How have you dealt with it? How long have you been using the unMat for?

great for travel
I travel with this mat and bought it for that purpose only. If you like a a thick mat to practice on, which I do, you'll need to put something UNDER this mat. I had to rent a mat at the studios I visited as Un Mat didn't provide enough padding for me. Still, I think it's a great product. It is neither too sticky nor slippery.

the 'Un' mat
Love this mat! Traveled with it recently and it was brilliant! Folded neatly into the bottom of my suitcase. Used it alone on a cork floor and a wood floor. May need to use it on top of a regular mat (folded over) when there is pressure on the knees otherwise it was fine on it's own. Non slip and so very easy to carry around.

Finally I don't feel like I'm going to slip & fall
No matter what mat I tried in the past my hands and feet would always slip, which would prevent me from really getting deep into a pose / focusing on my stretch and breathing (as I was more focused on trying to prevent my hands or feet from slowly inching out). This mat has COMPLETELY removed that issue. Yes, it's very thin and yes, it leaves some sweat marks (I have the beaming blue), but I couldn't care less as I no longer experience even 1 iota of slippage. Thank you, Lulu!

Forever converted
I bought this mat last night, and used it for practice the first time this morning. Amazing! I have practiced yoga for only 2 years, but I have been through 2 mats already, and have always been a mat and skidless towel girl, for both heated and unheated practice. My practice this morning included only non-heated, but I cannot wait to try this mat in my heated class! Contrary to many of the reviews, I found the rubbery smell to not be too overwhelming, and expect it will be gone within a couple more classes. I did not slip or skip on this mat once, through a rigorous, sweaty 90 minute vinyasa. I am so looking forward to freedom from the towel! More than satisfied with the purchase, and with the price considering the quality of the mat. I am hoping for a long, happy practice with The Mat!

Also a great workout mat
I actually bought this mat as a portable stretching/workout surface (my campus gym had icky co-ed mats). It makes a great lunch break yoga mat for the office too. For a commuter it's the lightest mat I've found! When i bought it a year ago the educators said it was too small for the lulu travel straps so I use a d-ring yoga strap as a dual purpose carry solution. For my occasional home practice, I use it on top of a manduka black mat pro to help with slipping. Also I have taken this mat to the beach to do yoga (good bye heavy beach towels!), this sucker has survived in tact through a lot.
